SUMMARY: President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated Members of Parliament (MPs) on passing the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Amendment Bill, 2025, saying clean politics and peace have transformed Uganda. “I want to congratulate the MPs upon passing the UPDF Amendment Bill. SUMMARY: As schools prepare for second term to re-open term next week, the Government has issued stringent new standards for the establishment and operation of pre-primary schools. The standards are aimed at enhancing the quality of early childhood education across the country. Among the major changes is the revision of the teacher-to-learner ratio from 1:40 to a maximum of 1:25. This means each nursery school teacher will now be responsible for no more than 25 learners, down from the previous standard of 40.
