The Presidency, June 2022

The Presidency, June 2022

by Sharp Mugabe / Friday, 15 July 2022 / Published in The Presidency

Dear Reader,

This is to present to you the June edition of our monthly e-magazine, The Presidency. The monthly e-publication highlights the major engagements of His Excellency the President for the month, and is one of our Open Government initiatives to bring Government closer to the citizens.

As is the practice, we bring you His Excellency’s major speech of the month. In this edition, we have annexed the President’s statement to the Commonwealth Business Forum on the theme: Ecosystems; redesigning global value chain in a post COVID world. The statement was delivered by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs; Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, at Intare Conference Arena, Kigali, Rwanda, on 22nd June, 2022.

In June, His Excellency’s focus was on peace and security of the country and the region. He held meetings with security and political leaders from the sub-regions of Bugisu, Sebei, Lango, Acholi and Karamoja, to work out a plan to end the re-emerging cattle rustling in Karamoja. On regional peace, the President attended the third Heads of State Conclave on the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Lastly, we encourage the citizens to give us their feedback and suggestions about the e-magazine and our other services through our platforms; email: [email protected], Whatsapp: 0414670288 or through our social media handles; GCICUganda. We also encourage the citizens who have benefited from the different interventions, programmes and projects commissioned by the President to send us their experiences in form of articles. We shall publish them. I now have the pleasure to present to you the twelfth edition of The Presidency.
