Summary:  The Government has issued tight guidelines for the management of public servants’ payroll, pension and performance under a process that will also see accounting officers smile all the way to the bank following a pay rise. As part of the guidelines, the Government has allocated UGX 57b to enhance salaries for 183 local government accounting officer, including Chief Administrative Officers and other officers who are at the level of Director, City Town Clerks and Municipal Town Clerks.

Summary: A total of 731 students have been admitted to public universities under the District Quota Scheme for the 2025/2026 academic year. Wakiso and Kampala Districts secured the highest number of admissions under the affirmative action policy, with 20 and 16 students, respectively.
