Lot 1 of Succesful Loan Scheme Beneficiaries – Academic Year 2021-22

List 1: Continuing Students

List 2: Undergraduate Degree

List 3: Undergraduate Diploma

Total of Loan applications for Lot I institutions: 4,797 (only 3,926 were eligible for support)

  • Male applicants: 2,856 (72.7%)
  • Female Applicants: 1,070 (27.3%)

The Loan Awards

UGX 6,050,000,000 was appropriated towards funding Loans for the academic year 2021/22 inclusive of UGX 500 million for the continuing students.

Allocations for both Lot I and Lot II

Lot I: UGX. 3,802,500,000 for 920 students of which;

  • 120 finalists under the Continuing Students Loan
  • 735 undergraduate Degree students
  • 65 students pursuing undergraduate Diplomas.

Lot II: UGX 2,247,500,000 to support;

  • 380 undergraduate Degree students
  • 235 Diploma Students.

Loan Awards to continuing Students

The government supported the Scheme with a startup fund of UShs 500 Million for the continuing students

  • Total Applications received:130
  • Awarded Loans:120
  • Male:85 (71%)
  • Female:35 (29%)

Loan Awards to Lot I of First-Year Students for the AY2021/22

Lot I of First-Year Students for the AY2021/22 was allocated Ushs 3,302,500,000 to support 800 of which;

  • 735 Undergraduate Degree students
  • 65 Undergraduate Diploma Students 
  • Males: 387 (47.3%)
  • Females: 421 (52.7%)

Affirmative Action

In terms of policy support for Persons with Disabilities;

  • Students with disabilities:20
  • Males: 16
  • Females:4

An extension was offered for applications for PwDs and applicants from the Karamoja Region till January 15th, 2022.
